The Mallorca 312 is a long-distance race held in the north of Mallorca. From our blog Cycling in Mallorca specialised in cyclists, we are going to give you the keys to enjoy this sporting event with us.
The cycling race Mallorca 312 runs around the island of Mallorca starting and finishing in Playa de Muro. This year the 14th edition will be held on 27 April 2024.
This famous road race is divided into three different distances. The routes of the Mallorca 312 are as follows: Mallorca 167, Mallorca 225 y Mallorca 312which is the race's namesake. Each of these routes offers a unique distance of 167 km, 225 km or 312 km, with a different landscape on each route.
The three versions of the Mallorca 312 all start at the same time, around 6:30 a.m., and from the same point in Playa de Muro, in the north of Mallorca, but they start the return journey to the finish line at the same point beforehand.
The registration fee includes, in addition to the right to participate in the race, other bonuses such as gifts: bag, official jersey, refreshments, insurance, and physiotherapy service after the race.
The Mallorca 312 is a very demanding event in terms of endurance. It gives you the opportunity to cycle around the island of Mallorca, starting from Playa de Muro. Along the way, you will cross the mountain range from north to south, following one of the most emblematic routes in Mallorca, which goes from Pollensa to Andratx, passing through the Serra de Tramuntana.
This road route crosses different landscapes and has a total elevation gain of 5,050 metres. Along the way, you will come across some of the highest areas of Mallorca, such as Puig Major, Coll den Claret, Coll de Femenia and Grau de Suprema.
The 225-kilometre Mallorca 312 route, also starting and finishing in Playa de Muro, follows a route through the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range and the interior of the island. Along this road route, cyclists will be able to enjoy some of the most charming villages of the Balearic Islands, as well as some breathtaking natural landscapes.
In this event, participants will ride a route with a total cumulative elevation gain of 3,973 metres. Apart from conquering the highest points of the Serra de Tramuntana, on this route they will also pass through Coll de sa Pedrassa, Galilea and Coll de sa Granola.
The shortest option of the Gran Fondo Mallorca 312 is a 167-kilometre road route. This is one of the best circular routes, combining mountain and beach, ideal for cycling enthusiasts.
During this route, you will reach an accumulated difference in altitude of 2,475 metres. Passing through the highest areas of the Serra de Tramuntana, riders will cross natural areas of great interest, such as the Gorg Blau and the Coll d'en Bleda, which is at an altitude of 226 metres.
