CYCLING Sports events in Mallorca
Cycling is a big deal on the island, as you probably already know and may even be involved in... and a growing phenomenon that has seen tens if not hundreds of thousands of cyclists of all ages, nationalities and levels take to its mountain and coastal roads. Cycling in Mallorca is everything from pro training ground to leisure sport and is fast becoming one of the biggest reasons anyone visits the island. But aside from training camps and bike tours, Mallorca has its own sportives.

And the influence of having a local world champion has made given tennis an importance it certainly did not have before. The Rafa Nadal institute draws high end players and coaches to Mallorca's specialist sports academy while it breeds new champions for the future.
One of the island's most important sport's events - The Mallorca Open is an International Series Tournament which takes place over a week in mid JUNE every year in Country Club Santa Ponsa, in Calvia, in the south of Mallorca.
SWIMMING Sports events in Mallorca
Cross Swim Bay of Pollensa
A truly tremendous feat, the cross bay swims on the island, and there are a few, see hundreds of top athletes competing in open water for distances far greater than any ironman.
The Pollensa Bay Cross Swim is 7 km long from Formentor beach on the northern side of the Bay of Pollensa to Playa de Sant Pere, on the Alcúdia side. It takes place every year in September and though anyone can register, past races have attracted top swimmers like David Meca and Xavi Torres, raising the bar and making this a sports event to watch, or take part in.
FELL RUNNING Sports events in Mallorca
One of the least known and biggest grrowing sports on the island is mountain running, spawning weekly races and events throughout the year and attracting thousands of elite sportsmen and women to the island's vast mountain range.

SAILING, BOAT SHOWS & REGATTAS in Mallorca
Sailing on the island is big. Regattas, superyachts, boat shows, you name it, the island has it. The marinas are becoming more and more upmarket, business is booming. And though you may not be able to secure yourself a seat on the classic sailboat race or the King's cup, you can go down to Palma and watch. There are many more races and shows than these but these four are at the top of their game. If you like the boating world, the summer in Mallorca offers lots of fun.
